  22.  SAN FRANCISCO, CA  - May 25, 1993: Solidifying its transformation
  23.  into a software company, NeXT Computer, Inc. today announced the
  24.  addition of two software industry leaders to its board of
  25.  directors:  Lawrence J. Ellison, president and CEO of Oracle
  26.  Corp., and Daniel H. Chase III, president and co-CEO of Hambrecht &
  27.  Quist Group.  They join Steven P. Jobs, chairman and CEO, and
  28.  Keiichi Uno, of Canon, Inc., on NeXT's board.

  31.  prominent leaders join our board," said Jobs of NeXT.  "Their
  32.  experience and guidance will be invaluable as we complete our
  33.  transition from a workstation manufacturer to a software company.

  35.  strategic and operations challenges of becoming the premiere
  36.  supplier of object-oriented software."

  65.  Larry Ellison has been president and CEO of Oracle corp. since he
  66.  co-founded the company in 1977.  Prior to founding Oracle, Ellison
  67.  was vice president of systems development at Omex Corp., a pioneer
  68.  in optical digital mass storage.  Before that, he worked at Ampex
  69.  Corp., on the adaptation of video recording technology, and prior
  70.  to Ampex, he was a member of the Amdahl Corp. team that developed
  71.  the first IBM plug-compatible mainframe computer.  Ellison is a
  72.  member of the Industry Policy Advisory Council of the U.S.
  73.  Department of Commerce and was named "Entrepreneur of the Year" by
  74.  Harvard Business School in 1990.

  78.  Dan Case currently serves as president and co-CEO of Hambrecht &
  79.  Quist Group where he has worked since 1979.  Case's previous
  80.  positions at H&Q include principal corporate finance: managing
  81.  director of investment banking; and executive vice president.  H&Q
  82.  is well-known as an underwriter of emerging growth companies
  83.  including the initial public offerings of Adobe, Apple, Genentech
  84.  and Sybase, as well as for a full range of other financial
  85.  services.  In addition to his management responsibilities, Case
  86.  personally served as lead banker on more than 60 completed
  87.  underwritings, financial advisory and private placement
  88.  transactions.  He is a Rhodes Scholar and an honors graduate of
  89.  Princeton University.
